NIGHTS

We are proud to strengthen our partnership with the Association Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque whose goal is to save children with heart disease. This is a partnership that you can be a part of every day when you stay in one of our hotels.

The period we have lived through since the 2020 health crisis has changed your habits, and your expectations have evolved. Many of you have asked us not to make up your room again from the second night onwards. This is why, from June 1st, 2021, for every 5,000 rooms that are not redone, we are offering you the opportunity to take part in this project, on an entirely voluntary basis, to help finance a child’s surgery and save their life.

Every year, more than 500,000 customers put their trust in us for a stay of longer than two nights. With your involvement alongside our 90 participating hotels, we hope to save the lives of 35 children by 2024.

CSR Program

Our customers have high expectations for the challenges of sustainable development and Corporate Social Responsibility and we are responding to these through well thought out, specific and operational actions. By making a voluntary and effective contribution towards a better use of our resources, we are reducing the impact of our activities on the environment.

Our environmental & SOCIAL actions

Since its creation, Grape Hospitality has not stopped trying to improve itself in order to provide an experience that matches its values: respect for the environment, ethical behaviour and a responsible way of consuming.

This is reflected in five major areas :

  • Reducing the carbon footprint
  • Reducing energy consumption
  • Encouraging short supply chains and biodiversity
  • Raising awareness among our partners
  • Our social actions

Reducing the carbon footprint

As part of our renovation programme, we are committed to respecting the environment. Choosing materials such as water-based paint, recyclable carpet for flooring and creating furniture using recycled products, like our outdoor bars, is a priority.

Installation of dispensers in the bathrooms and washrooms, replacing single-dose complimentary toiletries : in 2021, all of our establishments in France will be fitted with dispensers as part of the process of doing away with plastic.

Waste sorting : systemisation of waste sorting in our establishments, by:

    • Making sorting bins available
    • Increasing waste sorting by housekeeping
    • Increasing waste sorting in our restaurants: organic waste, recyclable waste, and so on, until we install composting units, which are being tested.

Reducing energy consumption

With a view to making significant savings, for the past three years Grape Hospitality has been retro-fitting thermostatic equipment into the bathrooms after renovation, allowing us to make considerable savings on water consumption of around 25%. As an example, in 2020 we estimate that we saved around 82,000 m3 of water.

Charging stations for electric vehicles: today, 19 establishments are equipped with 60 multi-use electric charging stations. Grape Hospitality is supporting the development of an electric car fleet in France through adapted equipment.

Encouraging short supply chains and biodiversity

Restaurants : Encouraging short supply chains is a priority. We are aiming for 30% of produce to come from local producers and promoting this on our Brasserie Maison menus. In addition, around fifteen or our hotels have kitchen gardens. Our restaurants incorporate organic farming produce, seasonal produce and, wherever possible, fresh produce. Always attentive to our customers and their well-being, we offer fish and white meat to reduce the consumption of red meat. We are also committed to offering an average of three vegetarian dishes in our restaurants.

Hives : 16 hotels, one of which is a training hotel for beekeepers, are equipped with 95 hives with a population of 1 million bees producing 500 kg of honey.

Raising awareness among our partners

Training is an important area. To that end, we provide :

    • Training for the housekeeping teams, particularly in waste sorting
    • Training for the technical teams in energy saving best practices (” It’s like Blackpool Illuminations in here”)
    • Training for restaurant teams (best practices, including in the kitchen, and proper waste sorting)

Support for an association :

In 2021, Grape Hospitality launched a strong partnership with Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque (for cardiac surgery) by launching the operation Good for Kids. By reducing the number of room changeovers, we save on water, complimentary toiletries and energy and, as a result, we are able to finance operations for children suffering from heart disease.
