GOOD FOR KIDS – ALREADY FOUR CHILDREN OPERATED ON – Encouraging initial results for the Grape Hospitality group’s “good for kids” operation in aid of the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association.
Paris, October 7, 2021 – Tuesday, October 12 at the Hôtel Novotel Lyon Bron Eurexpo the Grape Hospitality group will be celebrating Amdiatou BIKIENGA, who underwent surgery for a heart defect last September, accompanied by her foster family. The funds raised through the Good For Kids initiative were used to finance Amdiatou’s operation, as well as those of three other children supported by Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque. Following the launch of the Good For Kids initiative last June, the Grape Hospitality Group has drawn up a very positive initial report, highlighting the welcome and enthusiasm of its teams and customers through the many messages posted on both internal and external social networks.
A ROOM NOT REDONE = A DONATION
With the “Good for kids” operation, every guest staying at one of the group’s hotels can become a player and support the actions carried out by Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque. The health crisis of 2020 has changed the habits and expectations of many customers, who have asked hoteliers to stop rebooking their rooms from the second night onwards. A primarily health-based approach that has now been enriched with a solidarity component.
Initiated by an environmental commitment and the general public’s appetite for more responsible consumption that respects the planet, the operation perfectly meets this objective in favor of a committed and intelligent hotel industry. From June 1, 2021for every 4,000 rooms not renovated, the Group and its guests will finance an operation to save a child’s life. To date, 16,000 unrefurbished rooms have been used to finance operations on Amdiatou and three other children supported by Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque. At check-in, every guest planning to stay longer than one night is invited to take part in this entirely voluntary operation. By default, the usual daily housekeeping protocol will be applied. The operation is currently deployed in 82 Grape Hospitality hotels in Europe, where over 500,000 guests stay two nights or more each year, and is expected to save the lives of 20 children by 2022.
