The signing agreement announces an 810-room partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts across five properties in France, Spain and Italy.
The five properties include the voco Madrid Centre Retiro, a first for the brand in the Spanish market; three Hotel Indigo properties in Bordeaux, Florence (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain); and the Crowne Plaza Madrid Centre Retiro, also in Spain. The three brands are going from strength to strength: Hotel Indigo now has 40 hotels open in Europe, with a further 19 under construction. Voco has 15 hotels open in Europe, with the recent opening of voco Dusseldorf Seestern and voco Venice Mestre – The Quid. Crowne Plaza currently has 88 hotels open in Europe, with one of the most recent: the Crowne Plaza Budapest. “We are delighted to be partnering with Grape Hospitality on such an important hotel collection in our key European markets of Spain, France and Italy. Hotel Indigo Bordeaux
Hotel Indigo Bordeaux has 100 rooms and will be the third Hotel Indigo brand hotel to open in France. The property is located in Bordeaux Chartrons, a sophisticated, leafy district with lively bistros on the Chartrons Market Square, waterside restaurants and eclectic boutiques. The hotel is scheduled to open in May 2023.
Voco Madrid Retiro Center
The new 193-room voco Madrid Centre Retiro will be the brand’s first hotel to open in Spain. The Latin name, voco, means “to invite” and “to bring together”, and the property will feature characteristic voco amenities, such as an arrival gift, simplified check-in, lively communal areas and rooms with thoughtful comforts, such as quality bedding and luxury bathroom amenities. The hotel is scheduled to open in April 2024.
Hotel Indigo Florence
Boasting a privileged location, Hotel Indigo Florence is just a two-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella, the city’s main train station, and close to Florence’s many attractions, such as the magnificent Duomo and the iconic Ponte Vecchio bridge. With 160 rooms, conference facilities and a wellness center, the hotel is due to open in 2022.
Hotel Indigo Barcelona Gran Via Plaza España
The 189-room Hotel Indigo Barcelona Gran Via Plaza España will be the second Hotel Indigo to open in Barcelona. Guests will be close to the Catalan Art Museum (MNAC) and a short bus ride from the center with its plethora of art galleries, parks and beaches. The hotel will open in April 2024.
Crowne Plaza Madrid Retiro Center
Located in a privileged area of Madrid, the 168-room Crowne Plaza Madrid Centre Retiro will be ideal for tourists and business travelers alike. This will be the second Crowne Plaza property to open in Madrid, the first being located near the airport. The hotel is scheduled to open in April 2024.
