Greet Annecy, Annecy’s 1st lifestyle hotel, opens its doors. An eco-friendly address for a mountain destination where life is good.
The Greet Annecy hotel, formerly operated under the Ibis Budget brand, and acquired in 2016 by the Grape Hospitality group, is shaking up hotel codes under Accor’s eco-responsible brand. For tourists and nomadic workers alike, the program features a friendly atmosphere supported by a sustainable approach to economical accommodation and catering. The Venice of the Alps, voted France’s most livable city in 2021, is home to its 1st eco-friendly lifestyle hotel.
When mountains and sustainability go hand in hand
The hotel’s lobby and 49 rooms have been completely redesigned by La Motte Servolex-based Aimo, following the Greet philosophy of upcycling and recycling. The hotel is now equipped with a restaurant and a second terrace, designed as a forest between lake and mountain, to increase its capacity. The 49 “POP” rooms, the signature identity of the Greet brand, make the most of upcycling, with recycled furniture and diverted objects. These include ski equipment turned into benches, coat hooks and lighting, as well as lift cabins recycled by ALTYPIC. Thanks to the architects’ collaboration with Atelier Emmaüs and L’Aménagerie, the hotel has created a unique identity that reflects its local roots and its commitment to a more responsible hotel industry.
A place rich in flavours
The hotel is also a magnet for local residents and workers, who can come to the hotel to order a takeaway, work in peace and quiet for a few hours, or pick up a basket of fruit and vegetables direct from local producers. Finally, the hotel boasts a restaurant featuring local charcuterie and cheeses, tartiflettes, jams and homemade juices. A concept sure to appeal to visiting gourmets and local customers alike. From a destination that’s on a roll, Greet Annecy offers all the comforts of a luxury hotel with a strong commitment to happy, sustainable tourism. With this second Greet establishment in France, after Evreux, the Grape Hospitality group continues to develop and strengthen its approach to responsible, positive hotel management.
