Good For Kids – In response to the health crisis, the Grape Hospitality group makes housekeeping optional after the second night and supports the actions of the Association Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque.
Paris, June 1, 2021 – The Grape Hospitality group is strengthening its partnership with the Association Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, whose aim is to save children with heart disease. With the “Good for kids” operation every guest staying at the group’s hotels can become a player and support the actions carried out by Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque.
The period we’ve been living through since the health crisis of 2020 has changed everyone’s habits and expectations. As a result, many guests have asked hoteliers to stop redoing their rooms from the second night onwards. A primarily health-based approach that now includes a solidarity component.
On the strength of its various CSR commitments to environmental, human and solidarity initiatives, Grape Hospitality’s “Good For Kids” initiative is a well-thought-out, concrete and operational approach supported by the group and all its employees. Initiated by a commitment to the environment and the general public’s appetite for more responsible and planet-friendly consumption, the operation meets a genuine customer expectation for a committed and intelligent hotel industry. From June 1, 2021, every 4,000 rooms not refurbished the group and its guests will contribute to financing a child’s operation and saving his or her life. At check-in, every guest planning to stay for more than one night will be offered the chance to take part in this entirely voluntary operation. By default, the usual daily housekeeping protocol will be applied. To date, the operation has been rolled out at 82 Grape Hospitality hotels in Europe, where over 500,000 guests stay two nights or more every year. By 2022, this initiative is expected to save the lives of 20 children. “This crisis has led us to take a different approach to our customers’ stays. Exchanges with our staff in the field and surveys of our guests show that combining solidarity with a health protocol is possible and highly appreciated. Since the creation of Grape Hospitality in 2016, we have actively supported the projects and actions carried out by Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque. This new scheme, devised in response to the crisis, is in line with our commitment to a hotel industry that is ever more responsible, humane and generous. ” Frédéric Josenhans, President of Grape Hospitality.
